My toaster beeps the moment before the bread pops up. Why a toaster has to beep is beyond me, as it's not like I'm in the other room wondering if my bagel ever finished toasting. I'm usually standing right there with cream cheese in hand, or standing in from of the coffee machine (which is right next to the toaster). I'm so not a morning person.
Harley-Davidsons, I just hate their damn useless sound...can do the same with my car if I remove the Mufflers ! Can't they built something that soubd like a BMW ?
This is a requirement for all cars to have.. at least in North America, that I know for sure. Ah ok, thanks.
Leaving wet/damp clothes in the machine for too long causes mill-due / mould to form, then the clothes end up stinking & need rewashing. The idea is to han them out to dry as soon as the machine is finished. Ofcourse, if you set the machine going when you are in bed, it's inevitable that it will keep you awake ( use a timer on the plug socket to kill the power just after the machine is due to finish ). Only hippies & restaurant kitchens should have dish washers- wash them by hand you lazy swine Because 20 years ago microwaves had a mechanical timer, and they 'dinged' due to lack of speakers. You can still buy cheap microwaves with mechanical dials- that will solve your problem. Personally speaking, I hate electronic items that generate an audible buzz- specifically my freesat box which makes a very audible ( coil ) whine when in standby mode, hence my TV unit now living in the living room. The charger / PSU for my cordless mouse does the same thing, so I can't leave it turned on when the PC is turned off ( to recharge the mouse- battery only lasts a few days ), I have to plug it into the same extension as the PC and monitors and then turn them all off at the mains. Not exactly unnecessary noises, but these things are incredibly annoying at night and the circuits should be designed to be silent...
Neil you'd go insane where i work. Because it's a repair shop, high voltage electricity tends to have coil whines or buzzing. Especially CRTs but most televisions have it. You'd go insane.
I can second the hate on electronic buzz Neil. My PSU used to buzz just after the computer was turned off - in an otherwise silent room it made was exceptionally piercing at night when trying to get to sleep. It seems to have stopped now, or I am just conditioned to accept it as background noise. The other noise that frustrates me is a weird ground loop between my soundcard and the case. It has manifested itself in two ways so far - one as a buzz in the headphones, thankfully this was solved by disconnecting all of the front panel headers (including 2 USBs ). The other one I experience more rarely - my mic produces buzz in recordings, unless I am touching the case while recording. The funny thing is that it seems to only be the wearer of the headset who has the 'power' to neutralize the case noise. It is a very odd ground loop going through my soundcard, case and headset.
I work in a local prison, and the noise that grates the most on me is "Boss open my door" I dont think many of you would understand the frustration of this but dealing with 112 prisoners on my wing without a key to get into there cell, then the rest of the population of over 1200 can become quite annoying. I hope you understand when a prisoner closes his door it locks by itself, a brilliant thing at the right time
My dog when he wants to go outside at 4am every morning or even worse when he has decided to knock the pan of chilli con carne i left on stove to cool down and eaten the lot
Affordable dishwashers are the blessing of our generation, IMHO. You can't just turn them off, you know...well you can, but only once, and it is generally deemed not acceptable in our society
I work at a callcenter. The most annoying sound is the ringing tone of our phone program because it signals another retard is on the line.
every single time i see a brat in store horrible things cross my mind. they always scream because they couldn't get "mommy" to buy that 100 dollar tonka truck, or just for the hell of it. very rare to come across one that has parents worthy of having children(the kind that aint afraid to whoop dat arse when they cross that neon red-at face level line), and i dont feel the urge to discipline the kid FOR the folks. and no, i dont mean a whip or anything. you know, that old fashiond threat that YOU had as a kid. spankings actually work. its like sticking a dogs nose in that pile of s$%# when he takes a thumper dumper in the house. eventually it dawns on them: "OH! Im NOT supposed to do that. if it werent for tech advancements i would wish i were born in the good old days.
