Chinese electronics that come with a 3 wire lead but the earth isn't connected internally Common, very common. They just don't care, so what if someone gets a heartattack from touching a lamp, there's thousands waiting to replace him..
Because you cover the majority of brands who make bread and save a few quid for more profit and a cheaper product.
That cannot be true as my good lady eats a well branded bread and the slices are too big, in fact I don't think we have ever had a toaster where any makers bread slices fitted neatly.
Ok then. Because the manufacturer doesn't give a flying hoot about your toast and its means more profit and a cheaper product which is more likely to sell.
I had the toast problem, got a Russell Hobbs one an it swallows a proper slice whole. Though when doing crumpets its actually too deep so have to pull the lever up to bring them to a grabbable height which I can live with.
Phillips once did a prototype toaster made of two adjustable plates of glass that heated up (coated with a transparent conductive layer). You could watch your toast as it browned, so you could terminate the process at just the right moment of golden brown crispiness. Magimix actually made a toaster with glass sides but it has a conventional heating element in the bottom. Just not the same.
cant think of anything right now but i will "see you next tuesday" and let you know if i have come up with anything.. LOL
Just to echo Legoman, I've got the Heritage 4 slice and it can accommodate warburtons toastie thick slice.
This post contains much truth. Pretty much every cable and connector inside a PC is awful. Re: Toasters, we have a high-quality 4-slice badboy from Tesco (£25, so a true premium product ) and it happily accomodates "long" slices of bread.
The need for a standby light on virtually every bit of electronics. I must have well over a dozen in my mancave/bedroom. A couple like the ones on my two Dell monitors, pulse for want of a enter word. Just charged my Black & Decker cordless drill twin batteries and there are two flashing lights. I appreciate that for somethings, perhaps chargers, these things are needed to indicate when a battery is charged but many are unnecessary.
Its not a bad baseline concept though. The problem with the design is that the heat distribution would be uneven. If you had an isolated heat chamber and some forced convection of the hot air from the heat chamber into the toast chamber it would work great. Yes, a fan oven for your bread.
I can't believe I'm asking this but have you got a link? This problem has been annoying me for years and my toaster has stopped popping up so it's the ideal time to jump ship to a proper toaster. ...like doing it under the grill? I want this process automated!
It's also Bit-Tech. If there's one thing that we're good at here, it's derailing threads Anyway, I too would be interested in a new and decent toaster - I hate having to turn the bread round because it's too big to fit in one go - so I have two okay-toasted sections top and bottom and one over-toasted section running across the middle... legoman, how long before you can get home?
Ill be home about six, do you guys require photographic evidence of its toasting prowess? I can see the lastest purchase thread being filled with toasters now
I am legitimately interested in seeing this, I've never understood why toasters don't toast "edge to edge". I've even considered making my own XXL toaster but the complexity in the pop up mechanism has always put me off.
This is the one I have. Toasting performance wise it's pretty good, not the best as one side seems to do a little more than the other, but it will do 4 slices of Warburtons super toastie in one go. SUPER TOASTIE!!!
Nosing on there, I seem to have found This beasty that looks suspiciously familiar. Ill check later though I dont recall a reheat feature on mine. But I can confirm it does swallow the Toastie bread perfectly well. Also used Bloomers in the past in there.
