Other Things you hate to wake up to

    I was awoken this morning by the sound of a click and a beep. Look at my PC and see this.

    So now i am wondering what kind of things have you woken up too that haven' t been the most pleasant?

    I know i have woken up with ice on my back from falling asleep at a party.

    4 in the morning and the continual beeping of my dishwasher flooding the kitchen.

    I was woken up last year to the tune of...

    "tony... weve got a problem with the tool"

    Once i made it to the terminal it became obvious that there was indeed a problem as for starters i could hear any reasuring beeps or line traces on the screen.

    Why was it bad? well the tool costs about $500k to run and it took us 18 hours to get back to drilling.
    $240k per 24 hours = $10k an hour x 18 = $180k + $500k = $680k loss

    still. could have been worse. i could have been on the other rig where they got the nuclear sources stuck in the tool!!!

    in simple terms, i tell the driller where the drill bit is in the ground and what type of rock hes drilling through.

    (i drill for black gooy stuff in the middle east)

    My "friend" hiding my alarm clock in my room, set for 4:04 in the morning (404, the alarm clock cannot be found, gags). It went off for months, during the GCSE period, though I don't blame it for my rubbish grades.
