:hip: I came up with a design 3 yrs ago for a cylindrical case design, but have yet to even start it;I dont see many people thinking outside the box.....Square is dull!asus came out with a case that is cool but not much is happening outside of that.think ahead to modular motherboards ,flexible motherboards and for gods sake think outside the box! :duh: :dremel: :thumb:

i don't understand what you want us to say. you don't need flexible parts to make a cylindrical case efficiently, just efficient use of space and stacking of parts

    i.e.

share ideas....thats pretty much it!if u cant concieve of a case mod getting past a window cut or a paint job read what others post.I am simply putting energy into the pool for changes to the status quo.....we will see a day when pc components are nano tech,I could have named this thread the dreamers lounge

well you're obviously new here. i find about one great case per month. i can conceive a case mod getting well further than that, and, after tiring of my treasure chest computer, had started on a design for something better. what's on your list of accomplishments? it's not nice to enter a community just to bash it.

I mod computers for my family.......i am not trashing this community either.alot of great talent goes into each mod;;;;;;its still a box! I have pictures of a window mod i did for my dads comp here http://www.talentmatch.com/Search/allView.asp?dnav=2&PID=11794 I did all the cuts with a makita grinder (5.5 inch).I also modded my cpu cooler I put a thermaltake fan on an aero tmd cooler when the fan went out.It stays 30 degrees cooler now because the fam is pushing 65 cfm

Square parts are cheaper to produce and more efficient when it comes to usage of space.
And as for motherboards, the cost of a modular configuration for any of the vital components wouldn't out-weigh the potential functional benefits. Secondary components on the other hand are either already modular to some extent or could be made even more modular with careful design work put into the case. Something I'm working on now at length.

ok , point well taken.somwhere tomorrow has to start and i am not a dependant person...my tomorrow starts with me.....that bieng said, when intelligent minds concieve of a future (ie.technology)it becomes the present.
when star trek showed captain kirk inserting a clear card into a machine to access files it was beyond the minds of most.....today its a reality...Thank you gene roddenberry.
