Has anyone else here on the UK side tried ordering from Think Geek before? If so, did you get your orders OK?

    My story goes like this:

both me & a mate want stuff from Think Geek, we decide to stick it all on the same order to save some money in shipping. I make the order on my credit card. This is on 20/02/02. The Airborne Express tracking site shows the stuff as being flown to Airborne's London depot on 22/02/02. All should be good.

A week later the status of my order has not changed from "on hand at destination" so I e-mail Think Geek. They tell me it's out of their hands & to contact Airborne.

After a month of phonecalls & e-mails where they only got back to me once out of all the times they said they call back, they are finally releasing my order, but they're charging me a whole load of money that I can only see as being storage charges. Which seems a little unfair as they were the ones who held my order thinking it was my personal belongings (they sent me a Customs form asking me to state which country I had moved to the UK from?!)...

It's totally put me off EVER wanting to use Airborne Express again.

Has anyone else had problems like this? Or does anyone else know how the customs charges work? I always thought it was 3.5% customs on anything between £36 & £282 & then VAT. Which would be about £24. They're charging me between £42 & £78 apparently!!
