Oh I had a sort of working system (P4 2.8 prescott, ASAU P4C800E-Deluxe)a few months back and now I've made a lot of changes including

    New PSU
    NB waterblock
    Different water circuit
No raid 5, just 2 sata drives
    SATA DVDRW

The water cuitcuit was tested out but when I (finally) built the whole machine, I get power up and no video. I've tested it with nothing but RAM and AGP, RAM and another (working) AGP card, No AGP card at all.

All the same, powerup nothing else. Now I guess this is a bust blown Mobo - maybe in my NB block install, or just possibly ram.

Whats the probable diagnosis? I considering trying to find a speaker to listen for post beeps, or maybe PCI video card, just in case that helps.

    Rather distraught, all said :waah:

does your video card need a molex connector hooked up to it? (Yes I did this once... I was sure I fried my 6800gt but, I just forgot to plug the power into it) If you already have it hooked up, try a different molex connector, some times I have to switch mine for some reason. If its not that try the ram and video card in another system... you can also try clearing the CMOS (probably wont help but you never know)

Get a speaker, just to satisfy curiosity, but i fear its either mobo or CPU. Motherboard is more likely really :(

    .... YGPM also

Happens to the best of us, dude... My K7D Master-L blew when I flashed the BIOS, and I'm quite sure I didn't do anything stupid. :sigh:

As others said, you need to get a speaker to do a halfway proper diagnosis. Also clear the CMOS. You may possibly have a dud RAM stick, which can prevent the whole board from starting up --in that case when you swap sticks remember you have to clear the CMOS also, just to get the board to snap out of its state of shock.

I've cleared the CMos, and can have a play with the RAM. I've also tried another PSU. Now Lets see if I can find a speaker.......

I try to resort back to the set up that worked and then swap out from that if i have time but it can be a long and laborious task of trial and error especially when you really need to be getting going with something else.............i feel for ya bud.

Well I may have killed it with overtightenbing the blocks. The board was warped whne I took it off the tray and I can see what might be fractures on the underside corresponding to CPU and NB blocks:

Then I wehn to take off the NB block and should have grabbed the hold-down fittings with a pliers as they sheered the hoops off:

I'll give it a test at some point - glue on a NB, but I think its one expensive doornail somehow.

Bummer mate, Still at least your a step closer to confirming the mobo as the culprit.

At the moment i am using a socket retention system, and i got to thinking last night about the ammount i tighten down the block, those poor little plastic knobbles

That was my effort at buying a spiny new top'o't'range board.

Next one will be used stock as punishment. :miffed:
