Im thinking about selling my media PC, seeing as i havent used it for months and its no longer connected to the TV i dont think ill miss it.

Now the problem, It has an 80Gb WD boot drive and 2x1Tb F2 samsungs for storage.

The Storage drives are basically full with full .iso rips of my DVD collection, Films/Tv Series etc, I still have all the physical Discs and everything is genuinely ripped from disc. Now im aware that i cant sell the media PC with the iso files on there own, but can i sell it as it is and chuck in the physical Media for free with the PC?

Theres probably 200+ films etc in total(new and old), but none of them have been touched in months either and are just taking up more space, so id be happy to see them go aswell. I could sell all the discs on there own and wipe the media drives but its alot of hassle.

So can i sell the whole comp as is including all the discs or will i have to wipe the media drives completely?

As you're not allowed to rip DVD's you own, you can't sell them on the drive (unless you happen to wear an eyepatch & have a parrot)

I'd err on the side of caution and wipe the hard disks. While you're allowed (I believe) to create a single personal backup of a movie you own, in this country, I don't believe you're allowed to transfer that backup even if you're transferring the original copy and your ownership of it too.

Well, we don't per se (unless you want to get all anarchist and just claim your rights - which I encourage you to do). We own a strict single-user license to use media. However I don't believe we're quite at the stage where they execute you for transferring that license to another person.

Hmmm thats annoying, Personally i dont see the issue, but i know copywrite laws are a little strange. Nevermind looks like ill wipe the drives and get a complete list of disks made up ready for sale.

From a report on the DMCA...

Granted that's also in the USA. UK laws may differ.
