Hello, Would the ThinkPad T42/T60 perform extremely good for graphics design? would mainly use it for photoshop/illustrator/flash and to show works to clients... need your input, I have no clue which laptop to get. Thinking of these models 'cause they look aesthetically well built and portable. I absolutely don't need a 7kg laptop that performs as a PC desktop, already got one lol. Any suggestions would be appreciated !
I have a t42 and cant complain, but i dont use it for graphics design. I have mine because its lightweight and the battery last almost 6 hrs. Im told the new t60 has a core duo in it which will probably be better for your graphics applications. Its also the recomended laptop at my university Although my schools graphic communications dept recommends Apples.
it's a damn fine machine. Only problem is that the t60 is a fairly large laptop and i wouldn't describe it as wholly portable. However if you wan't to show clients media then you want a laptop that has a large enough screen taht is viewable by quite a few people.
15.1" seems quite big... I was also planning to use it in my car with a GPS receiver on a laptop mount, and it must not block my windshield view. I was looking into a 13.3", but there's only 12.1" or 14.1" on the ThinkPad series -___-;
I truely like ibm's design, but take a look at asus v6j . My dream laptop, accept that you may buy a new larger battery because the original only last's about 2.5 hours. 1400*1050 on a 15ich. only 2.5 cm thick...mmm sexy...
