The advert is by the Mill, a company well known in creative circles for there consistently high standard of work.

It took 606 takes to get right. It was completed on the 606th take, not the 607th.

The filming took 4 days, not 8 months. It took 7-8 months to go through scripting, script approval, concept art and development. etc
Basically, the development quagmire that the final audience never really knows anything about ;)

The parts came from ripping apart one of two pre-production model Accords (of the 6 in existence at the time) used in the ad.

The budget was in fact £6 million. Partly because of the complexity of the project, partly because the full ad is 2 minutes long, making it 2, 3 even 4 times longer than normal ad spots.

Oh, and it is an international ad. Notice the cunning lack of any people in the ad, making it completely portable between ethnic/geographical groups.

    Does that settle your curiosity?

    :D

How can you get the DVD in the USA? Whoever is doing the DivX rip, let me know. If somebody can get a copy of the DVD to the US I'll rip it and stick it up for everybody to download. I checked the form that was linked and couldn't find an international order form anywhere on the site. Honda Cars USA didn't seem to have any information on it either.

    Cheers,
    David

I'll see if I can get one sent out to the neighbours and I'll see how much it would cost me to throw one across the pond. ;)

I'd be interested in a divx copy, definately. Just as long as it is obtainable through clearly legal channels (no *ahem* Kazza *ahem*)
