Bad ass? Bad being the key word. (and not the good kind of bad) Looks unattractive and I'm not buying into this immersion cooling malarky personally.
only cool if there's a pumping system to quickly drain the main chamber for maintenance. ZOMG it totally does that. yes. yes, i want one.
It's ugly and way too large (consumes about two acres of table space). Also I'd rather not have all the parts covered in some goo when I upgrade and try to sell them...
Given the choice between this and the Reactor, I wouldn't think twice about going for the Reactor. - Diosjenin -
*readies dremel* so where do i cut holes in my p182 to get it into a liquid computer? wonder how high can that overclock
They won't be. Fluorinert (which is what this is) evaporates at room temperature, leaving no residue whatsoever. In fact, the components would be cleaner than when they went in.
^^ beat me to it. the reason they have the two chambers on the side is because the fluorinert will readily evaporate at room temp and is fairly expensive. <not sure about this bit> plus it is cooled by phase change. ie. colder than ambient temperature.</not sure about this bit>
$825 for 250ml Flourinert is a fairly expensive liquid. Mineral Oil is considerably less, with commercial grade going for $300 less for 20l. Veterinarian grade goes for about $11 a gallon. Personally I don't like the look of either this or the HC Reactor, simply because they stray away from the basic PC so far, I'm a minimalist when it comes to my PC looks though, I like the clean lines that say "professional".
