do you find that the music you make by yourself as opposed to that you make in a band is a lot calmer and less aggressive? ...i think it may be down to the fact that you don't have to deal with other people... *n
Sometimes I do work with others (but the majority of what I do is solo) - when I do music with other people it tends to be less musical/creative and more formulaic, due to the difficulties inherant in dealing with different creative viewpoints. As for aggressiveness/calmness, most of the music I do solo is more relaxed and classy, when I do cooperative music with others, it tends to be more dancy/industrial/etc. The music itself isn't any more "aggressive", but the styles are. I guess it all depends on who you're working with.
when im with other people we do stuff like rock and quite depressing stuff. when im writing on my own i tend to do string quartets and so on. thats quite different i think ive just got to find time to do some writing now.
i'm bipolar also i have found in the past that i'm more creative and have more energy when i'm manic but i have more persistance when depressive kinda means i have a flurry of ideas and stuff but don't finish them due to lack of attention span *n
