Just wondering if anyone knew what kind of thread (BSP, NPT, Taperd, other???) and size of threads (1/2", 3/8", 10mm, 8mm, etc) are on the Eheim pumps (I know, they're all different, but the ones you know would be helpful). I'm particularly interested on the smaller models, i.e. 1046, 1048, or any of the 12V models.

    1046/Aquastream/HPPS:
    Outlet G1/8 Inlet G3/8
    1048
    Outlet G1/4 Inlet G3/8
    1250
    Outlet G3/8 Inlet G1/2
    1260
    Outlet G3/4 Inlet G3/4
    Hydor L20/L30 etc
    Inlet/Outlet = G1/2

    G meaning BSPP (Parallel) threads.

why do you fear them? i've had no problems in the US finding fitting for my 1250. i just went to HomeDepot and picked up a 1/4 treaded quick connect and a 3/8 treaded quick connect. i wish they would have carried metal ones so that it would look nicer but i'll deal w/ the plastic.

It's not so much because they're hard to find, but more because I don't trust the seal on parallel threads with O-rings. Also, I was hoping to use the massive stock of Swagelok fittings at my work (which are all in NPT threads).

I trust BSPP more than BSPT. You just need to be carefull that the oring is the correct size - it should be tight to get on the thread. If it goes on easly then it is too big and will get swuashed out and make it leak when its tightened up.

You can try BSPT, I expect it work work resonably well, but you might need to re-tap first. A tap costs about £5.

You might be able to find a BSPP to NPT adaptor. I'd search for you but I'm on dialup until wednesday.

That's a BSPP fitting, (short thread with O-ring) highspeedpc don't know BSPT from BSPP. They list the fass-o-matic as bspt and it isn't.

    I figured as much :)

What exactly does a BSPT fitting/thread look like?

Not much different to an NPT one except the pitch /\ of the thread is different..........BSP being 55 degrees and NPT are 60 degrees

This Barb Sizes Explained might be some help :thumb:

Give me till the evening and I'll get a side by side of 1/4 BSPP and 1/4 BSPT - very different.

Sorry, my bad...........i thought Puggy meant the difference between NPT and BSPT thread.

I'll save you a job Risky

That's a 1/4" BSP to 3/8" Hose Tail on the left and a 1/4" BSPT to 3/8" Hose Tail on the right.

Thanks for the pic :) It seems as if the taper is slight, but I can see it.
