I'm tempted by a 'nice' watch for my 21st later this year. Really like the look of the TISSOT PR 100 AUTOMATIC GENT, leather strap, quite a plain look to it. Not bits and pieces all over the place Problem is there are waaaaaay too many options out there, never work out what I actually want
Was never a fan of leather straps, just doesn't sit right on my hand. Nice to be an inspiration I just got a new one as the old one finally broke after ten years of daily use, and I am not one to be gentle just because I am wearing a watch.
Junghans Mega Solar. Sapphire glass. Ceramic housing. Leather strap with titanium buckle. Solar powered; radio synchronised. Never needs winding. Never needs setting. Minimalist. Clean. Precise.
I've just had a thought. It might be too late now, but is the PR100 available in Titanium with an automatic movement? I might be willing to spring for it with an auto instead of the quartz, although I'd have to email them straight away to change my order. I can't find it in Ti with an auto movement but it might exist...
Went to look at a PR100 today, I'm a big chap and it's probably a bit small for my wrist. That said I didn't try one on (Shop was just closing) so I'll check it out tomorrow. Did like the black faced titanium one though.
I am kinda partial to this one I hope it's worthy to be in this thread. If you like i can get a proper camera and take a picture.
No idea but good luck with your hunt I need to call Tissot and demand a salary beautiful watch but correct me if I am wrong but don't you need to add F@#&% expensive to that list, have a feeling that it would take my years salary to buy one. Of course it is and anyone that uses a pocket watch has some amount of class. I am the odd one out here as one of the few in my area that still uses wrist watches and never actually known anyone who actually used a pocket watch.
Ooh, definitely! I love antique watches. That's the good bit: they are surprisingly cheap compared to better-known prestige makes. You can get one new for about £350,--.
I got the answer to my question - it doesn't come in titanium with an automatic movement, only stainless steel. I have no idea why this is, perhaps titanium casings don't lend themselves well to automatic movements or perhaps they wanted to keep the cost of the PR100 range down. The Titanium quartz was considerably more expensive (£230) than the stainless version would have been (~£160), and equally the SS automatic is a lot more expensive than either of the quartz versions (~£350). I assume Tissot didn't make a titanium version with an automatic movement because it would probably have been over £500. I'll just have to wait a little longer for my first auto
In a bit i may get the other one out it's a bit older but needs some work the one in the picture works like the day it was given to my great grandfather as a retirement gift from the mines.
That's what I have, use it for everyday, which is a shame because it's fairly scratched now, but I miss it if I use one of my other watches
Awesome. One day I may buy one just because I like them. You can buy a nice glass dome display stand for them, btw.
This is my all time fave at the moment. Citizen Red Arrow World Time Chronograph. My Girlfriend even went and surprised me with one two months ago. It's a gorgeous watch which I love.
Here are mine: Oris TT, Rolex Submariner (2009), Omega Constellation (196?) and the Omega Seamaster (2000)
Unfortunately that still puts it way out of my budget as 350 is just a hundred short of my monthly net income and I don't feel like starving too long to get one.
To be fair, I bought mine as an end-of-line bargain with £100,-- discount, paid in three installments. It was back in 1997, at a time when I did not have much disposable income either.
This is the watch I wear everyday now, I have a couple of other Diesel watches, a Fossil watch, A Citizen watch (which needs a repair) and a gold pocket watch.
