Cooling Tightening waterblock barbs.

    Hi there,

    Any rules to follow here such as torque limits etc as i dont want to crack the block or strip the thread in the barbs lol.

    Tips or advice very welcome.

    What materials? I don't think there are any specific values, but metal barbs on plexi tops are pretty delicate things. I'd use some o-rings and PTFE tape to try and make sure I didn't have to tighten it up too much.

    I've always done it finger tight. Never had an issue

    Finger tight always worked for me.

    Sorry for omitting such an important piece of info.....materials are plexi block & metal barbs.

    PTFE tape on the thread with help form a seal, and finger tightening should be fine.

    When i first started out i used a socket set to crank them home, only to then find cracks forming, lesson learn't the hard way i guess.

    I still nip them up with a adjustable spanner but nothing major.
