I think you've solved your own problem. Dunno about in Australia but here in the US motocycle classes are fairly easy to find, I live in a town of about 75,000 and there are classes for people who have never ridden before, people with some experience, and advanced classes geared towards those who want to race. It will cost you money but I think it will be completely worth it for you.

Honda seems to offer a wide variety of courses.

Yamaha Cygnus x! 125 cc scooter , and I got 60 mph out of mine! Nice solid feel and stable ride. Has a reputation for being an excellent scooter. I rode mine for w hole winter and it was great! I bought mine for over 2000 quid, but only got 800 for it with 4000 miles. and it was immaculate. You wouldnt go far wrong and it look great too!

I've tried talking you out of riding but if you are, then further training should be provided at any of these
Just call them up and say you want some further training.

I've been to honda/hart & armstrongs in thomastown - i liked the armstrongs at thomastown better cos at honda a couple of girls fell and their course was ended - they obviously need the most help but they get told to try again next time - wtf? All hart care about is not scratching thier bikes.

I did my learner's at armstrongs and the guy told us to experiment all we want during free time, so we could find the limits of the bike - and we did just that, we swerved as sharp as we could & hit the brakes as hard as we could until we knew exactly how far we could go - when we eventually went down they didn't mind, all the said was "what you did wrong was ..., try again, youre learning :thumb: "

    I reccomend armstrongs.

I did my p's at hart and i was scraping the hell out of thier cb250 all over the course which i thought was easy to do (i learnt that on my learners at armstrongs which was the first time i rode a motorbike) but they came up to me and said "you do that again and you're going home" No-one is allowed to try and find the limits of bike control at HART!!! and on a cb250, the limits are very easy to reach. A cb250 is about halfway between a sportsbike & a scooter, with it's mid/rear weight bias, thin tyres and weak brakes, but it's low centre of gravity & upright seating posistion makes it nearly as easy to ride as a scooter, with the benefit of having your legs wrapped around the tank - the only thing harder about a cb250 is that it has a clutch.

But that^ all relates to bike control, to actively be safe on the road, you should sit a course with these guys. I dunno what it costs cos my company put all of us on the course. It was held at holmesglen on south rd and there was nice muffins & rolls provided :D I recently did a one day course here, they are a little overboard with safety and most of what they say is common sense, but there are little facts throughout the course that you probably don't know and didn't think of - follow thier reccomendations and you'll be doing just about all you can do.

That's nice of you to go to the trouble of finding that Rocket, I'm very appreciative.

I did my learners at Armstrongs too, it's just a fair hike to Thomastown from Ringwood!

The guy there (I forget his name but omg he was one of the best looking guys I think I have ever seen) was really nice. Very encouraging, even rode next to me and was talking me through it and re-assured me when I was ready to leave.

I'm surprised you tried to talk me out of riding, mvagusta.. if you're a rider too.

I know how much fun and how dangerous it is, and you're welcome for the links.
