Apple time machine working so SLOW

    so i mad ethe jump to leopard. ran the first timemachine backup have been using it since.
    just did a software update and timemachine is running so slow

    Im backing up to a 1TB WD myBook connected via Firewire800

    its been almost an hour and it has still only managed to back up 97.7MB of 2.3GB

    is anyone else noticing this issue?

    Problem solved.

    Turns out that the backup software that came with the mybook was running in the background.
    Even though i had told the software tpo disable background services they were still running.

    the backup software was installed before my upgrade to leopard.

    Problem was solved by removing the backup software that came with the drive
