Posted this a while ago, but now the pc is at mine, and i've had a chance to look at it again. its a time with an AMD k6 500 mhz in it, mobo has number "PAG-2130" on it. The problem is it won't run the DMI pool test thingy (the bit after inital post) just sits with a black screen and flashing cursor. have reseated CPU, chnaged ram slots, remved all IDE devices and floppy, cleared CMOS, added some arctic alumina to the CPU.... still nothing... think the mobo could well be shafted, but does anyone have any other ideas? thanks
No, was given it by a m8.... if i can fix it then its mine (for a small fee) thinking it'll make a great webserver/ fileserver/ firewall, so sorta keen to get it up and running.... Ok, now we have a strange whirry beep as it gets to the cursor... machine totally locks, no power to kb or anything....
