Cooling Tips on making a radiator shroud

I need to make a shroud for my heatercore that I just got in the mail ( ) but I don't really know how to make one...any tips for a n00b?

 

I was looking around voor a shroud myself and found a guide at www.procooling.com
I'am planning to make something like it myself

cut up 4 pices of cardboard that look like this ---> /______\

Cut two pices that have the bottom wider part the width of the rad and two pices that have the bottom part the lenght of the rad. Keep triming em till it fits enough around your fans and rad. The tape it together and make shure it fits. when it fits just measure the sides and cut it into plexi,wood, metal, or whatever material your using.

Use basic trig to get a rough idea, also do some good old searching, check out slaters project log he has a good plan in their somewhere.

Well yes basic trig, but I personaly dont bother as I like to make the model first then get an idea of what it can look like then I cut it on the rite shape.

make a frame out of wood. it doesn't have to be thick, and then fiberglass it all. then just cut out your holes. if you use the wood, wrap it in aluminum then put the resin on there then lay some glass then add more resin. or you can just use some wax to cover the wood. that's if you don't want the glass to stick to the wood, or you can use really thin pieces of wood, like you would find at a hobby store for making airplanes and stuff and just let the glass stick to it.

 

Each to their own, I do maths all day long at uni so I feel I must put it into practice, but imo some trig will give you the best results, hazarding a guesss then trying to alter it doesn't work 90% of the time.

trig only works when people get the math right. Otherwise, it can be much more disastrous than eyeballing it..

and come on, make that next post...roll over to 2,000...

 

I actualy do way better when I eyeball things than when I sit around trying to figure the math. You see im a contractor when Im not in school and I have eyeballed perfectly level tiles and beams. I do achek it with the level after I eyeball it but most times I get it down to the hair. Also being that I am around things that need to be done correctly everyday I got used to it. I used to sit around doing the math but now im down to eyeballing distances withn an inch of what I need on large pices.

I guess I have lost of practice eyeballing things.

I still need to get a life btw, your just hopless...LOL j/k
