What they don't say is that they have simply massed all the different audio versions, i.e english/french etc etc all in one install. So instead of having it only unpack the audio you need it is giving you everything.
My BF4 downloaded every language for it. Was pretty annoying when I had to grab several GBs of extra stuff I didn't need on my slow arse connection.
if it's that price through origin mexico, then i think i'll buy it. i played for under an hour in the beta but it was fun...but 48gb?! must be a way to reduce that space right?
So i have had a quick blast on this and have to say it is OK, not great but OK, some of the new maps are great but the more open maps are titan heaven, you don't stand a chance, and come across someone who has unlocked a few extras for there titans and your titan wont stand a chance Something pleasing about standing on an enemy though
Picked up the game and the season pass for £28 using the Mexican proxy method. Seems to be fine, and for that price, even if I don't very much like it, its no big deal.
Picked it up yesterday from CDKeys.com, perhaps I should of gone via the Mexican proxy method to get the season pass at the same price; never mind, all downloaded and looking forward to the launch - I did enjoy the beta.
VPN to unlock it, i did and works fine 1) Download SoftEther VPN Client http://www.vpngate.net/en/download.aspx 2) Install VPN client 3) Launch client and select a Korean VPN 4) Load up Titanfall 5) Disconnect VPN Make sure Origin is not running when you install and run the VPN, once the VPN is connected launch the game from start menu, simples
I'm still preloading - its coming down at 7MB/sec but still going to take aaaages! Anyway of uninstalling the other language packs or whatever - some of us are running SSDs here! EDIT: Looks like the actual install is only 20GB. That's better, but couldn't I just DL the 20GB in the first place?
I took a look at the entire install folder, it's 49gb hoping to be able to remove the other language packs. I took a look a the VPK folder which is the largest in file size. 47.7ish gb of data. I checked the additiona l language files. They are actually pretty small so the whole game is huge.
ive been loving it so far. lovin it. that being said... ****in agree. whoa there big boy.... thats where i disagree. titan dynamic play and the whole parkour thing stands pretty damn obvious compared to other games. and trust me, 5 years ago, NOTHING comes close to this (on my 660Ti at least), even if you have SLI 8800GTX Ultra. the game is pretty. but yeah totally agree. 8.5 on average although personally it should be 9/10. i mean... its a bit too dummified with no server pick, everything auto-join, basic game modes and the usual perks... but damn im still having lotsa fun, more than anything in the Battlefield series or CoD series (except BF2 with the spec-ops DLC....thats fun too when it came out) PS: smart pistol with enhanced tracking is like ****in cheating. and im lovin it.
Awesome - thanks you! Now i just need to get this work deadline finished..... Yeah, I had to uninstall a load of games from my SSD to accommodate. Perhaps its time for an upgrade Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Amazing! Activated a little while ago and just completed the training and the first couple of campaign missions As the reviews have said there's very little different between the beta and the main game apart from more maps and more guns
Loving the game... as far as the HUGE audio files, it seems that they have all the audio in uncompressed format. This is allowing schmucks like me with older PC's to run the game on Dual Core pc's SO THANK YOU!!!!! ReSpawn! I can even run it at 1080p with med textures so it looks ok (not like BF4 where I had to drop the resolution way down)
But what type of compression do they use in games? I mean lets face it, playing compressed music isn't hard even on an old single core.
Games usually ship in an a compressed archive form, in other words - zipped. BF4's audio extracted to 35 odd Gig of waves, which is currently the size of the whole thing.
Errr yeah, as others have said, its not decoding audio that's slowing down your games...... Titanfall runs so well because its built on the Source Engine from about 10 years ago.
Finished the MP campaign (both halves) yesterday simply to unlock being able to customise the Ogre. I did quite like it to be honest - yes it's just Attrition and Hardpoint but the two different viewpoints was quite interesting. I wouldn't play it though again though. Definitely looking forward to getting stuck into classic MP (I would be more looking forward to it if I wasn't at work until 7.30 this evening...)
Well working late over the last few days has prevented me from jumping on VPN and playing. Looks like I will be one of the few people who play on launch Looking forward to tomorrow to do some titan stomping....or getting stomped rather Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
