Gaaah, I hate the bloody thing. my computer seems a lot slower upon installing (boot times are the most noticeable)

if i remember correctly when you install the updates for 2000/xp it installs some security update which for some reason :-\

i think that was a prob with 1 update and firewall software

i do believe that it has been patched now and shudnt affect the performance like it used to.

i had it on the computer in my sig before last time i formated and i had a huge speed hit. no firewall at all. hmm why do i keep talking about my lack of securitys including a anti-virus the fact that i never ran windows update? anyway i noticed lower framerats and at least 30 more seconds in my boot time. BTW what are your peeps boot times? i havent tested my self in a while but after installing desktopx and many other things i noticed its going longer. anyway belive it or not i was able to get my old P3-600mhz 256 ram computer to boot in 29.88 seconds. last time i checked my computer in my sig booted in 12.21 seconds

how can you time how long it takes to boot?

yes, using the integrated sp1 is better than installing the updates on a none sp1 xp IMO
