If you have Evri move your delivery from your house to an InPost locker (because you can't wait in all week for the useless idiots to bother showing up!),
you then have to use the locker's post code (not your own) to expand the tracking info if you need to look up things like, say, the locker's post code! :wallbash:

EDIT - Evri have their own lockers, they don't use Inpost!

Do they still fake the proof of delivery when they 'lose' the package.

UPDATE:- Parcel successfully retrieved, after a little grief detailed below.

Evri don't use InPost lockers, they have their own nearby (usually in the darkest, least obvious, most mugger-friendly corner of the location)
I discovered this after standing at the InPost one for a good 10 mins trying to figure out why it was only asking for a 6-digit code when I'd been sent an 8-digit one, and was about to go into the shop to complain. :wallbash:

    Well I didn't learn I pondered.

    Longjohns. Why?
Are there shortjohns? If there are what are they?
If they're aren't then why are longjohns not just called johns?

    And who is John?

    That is all.

Yes. My head is full of flu.

I'm pretty sure that the john is a euphemism for toilet.

Also a old name for underwear, therefore longjohns could also be long underwear.

Also Also it's believed to have been used in relation to a boxer called John who used to box in long legwear.

TIL that whilst in the US, government agencies are murdering protestors on behalf of the president and mass-shootings still seem to be popular, homicides in the UK are at a 50 year low, says the ONS.

TIL - Linus Tech Tips has been helping in the restoration and HD (1080p) remastering of one of my favourite 90's toons - Reboot.

And the first 4 episodes are already up at the original studio's Youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/@MainframeStudios

Recently i'd been getting sleepy after eating nuts (waits for @David dad joke  )

Anyway after honing it down it seemed to be hazelnuts

TIL hazelnuts contain tryptophan and so melatonin would explain it.

Now I know what to eat if I can't sleep.

TIL that Adderall is 4 different kinds of Amphetamine mixed together in a single pill... and completely illegal in the UK and across most of the EU. I dsicovered this after idly asking a pharmacist why you never see kids prescribed it here when seemingly every other kid in the US is taking it. I wish I had a camera for the boggle eyed stare I got.

Also, Japanese Coke bottles look a bit like a Soviet RG-42.

Actually the active ingredient of adderall is two types of amphetamine, dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine.

It’s not necessarily outright banned in the UK (can’t speak for Europe), it’s just not licensed for use. You could potentially get it prescribed privately, but you’d have to have a damn good reason for taking Adderall instead of the alternative medications that are licensed for use.

Adderall is only “illegal” in as much as the Elvanse I take for ADHD is also “illegal”; that is, it’s a controlled substance due to the abuse/misuse risk and it’s potentially addictive qualities. I get mine posted out from a private pharmacy so don’t have many issues, but it’s not uncommon for people to be basically treated like a criminal or a junkie when collecting ADHD medication from pharmacies. Many outright refuse to even deal with ADHD medication as they can’t, or won’t, deal with controlled substances.

The difference between what I take, Elvanse (branded Vyvanse in the US), and Adderall is that Elvanse is pharmacologically inert until it’s metabolised in the body. Adderall has active ingredients whereas Elvanse uses lisdexamfetamine, which is a pro-drug that the body metabolises into dexamfetamine (don’t ask me why dexamfetamine is more commonly used than dextroamphetamine, it just is…). You can’t get the effect from it until you swallow it, and it’s a slow prolonged release instead of a big wallop in the face.

ADHD medication has a massive amount of stigma attached to it, because “OOooOoOoOOooo, scary, that’s what’s in speed, and that’s really bad…”. But the reality is that, for those of us that benefit from the medication, it’s the difference between being able to cope with normal daily life and… not. I’m deliberately avoiding elaborating the “not” there, because untreated/undiagnosed ADHD can have, and has had, some quite severe consequences.

Today I learned that Tom Scott is from my home town. His latest video is from the mine training site that I walk past daily on my way to work.. and you can see his accent slip back to the local dialect

To correct that post, Evri do not use InPost (that's Yodel). Evri have their own locker network.
