Precisely. Consider a further example: As of right now the International Space Station has the following: An American lab, a Japanese lab, a European lab, several Russian modules, and a superb Canadian robotics system, all connected and working harmoniously. Think of what that means in terms of political history as recent as 40 years ago. Space exploration not only serves as a unique test bed for scientific research (which in turn improves life here on the ground), the inspiration it can give to people in terms of humanity is so undervalued. -monkey
Exactly. If you are selling a limited resource that is in high demand, you sell it for the highest price possible before the wells run dry, take the money and run. You do not plow it back into finding alternatives that will undermine demand for your product. Oil business is in the oil business. Read this and be enlightened.
It's a middle name, get over it. I'm sorry but I'm getting quite sick of people making a big deal over it. I agree with you now gooey, just didn't understand what was being stated. I'll agree it is a massive undertaking to do, and having it done now will save a lot of trouble further down the road in the future.
my bad, i did not know his middle name was Hussein... i thought it was like when people compared his name with Osama and other bad guys that scare Americans so much......
At first I was going to have a little rant. I love space rockets and stuff. Then thinking about it though. If more renewable energy is developed, it will potentially aid toward furthering our efforts in conquering the galaxy, whereas it is less likely that it would be the best of both worlds the other way round. All that said, I will just mention that my interest in developing renewable energy is not so much to stop global warming (which I still believe is a natural occurrence that we are just speeding up a teeny bit) but rather that technological advancement is always a good thing. Coal and oil have a diminishing lifespan so it is pretty urgent we figure something out (nuclear power is the future for now if you ask me (and not those fearmongering tree huggers)) but I'm pretty sure there are better sources of energy out there that we just haven't realised properly yet.
Sorry DXR, I kind of went off a bit much there. the media, in all its glory have been making a big deal out of it, or were, and it just annoys me to no end.
no problem like you i am also sick and tired of hearing BS about this guy in the media.... he is the best choice for a president the USA has, and if he looses... i want to move to another planet, i don't what to see the crazy amount of damage 4 more years of this type of government will do.
"(which I still believe is a natural occurrence that we are just speeding up a teeny bit)", Based on my reading of scientifically based material from public sources about global warming, you are 100% correct, although it might have not been just a teeny bit. Its time we use nuclear power to its fullest potential now that we have the sustainable technology to do so, including the ability to re manufacture the spent fuel rods into usable pieces by combining them, and even using the more spent fuel until its completely free of radioactive material. Recycling is part of nature its time for us to the same with all our technology, use everything to its fullest potential, even if it is somewhat expensive to do so, look at the companies that take shortcuts with disposal. Obama has my vote if he can keep his word through-out his campaign, unfortunately its the lesser of two evils, as in my opinion campaigns cost so much money you end up selling something to the people of the USA, like a war etc.... even landing on the moon, its time we try for something that just doesn't affect us!, no matter the possible potential like landing men on the moon brings!
