Me too. Well, Fire Fox was not what I wanted so I uninstalled very early after installation. :D
But hell yeah, those programs really are kinda 'Who's Who' in mainstream software.

I've used all except for ICQ. I have to say, I'm surprised at some of the volume amounts, though. I mean, Acrobat reader barely made the list!? :) Then again, I suppose it comes supplied on so many discs that you don't really need to download it.

I'm also really quite surprised that mIRC didn't get on the list. That baby's been around since the dawn of time, and there's still lots of people who use IRC.

Used all except Skype and Napster.

I've used all except for iTunes and Skype (what the hell is Skype?). Now, I only use 4 out of those 10 (Winamp, Firefox, Ad-aware and Acrobat Reader) since I've found better alternatives for the rest.

Not about 'these days' tho, its about the last 10yrs. And ICQ used to be *the* instant messaging program back-in-the-day.

Also: AIM? pfft. Even MSN is more popular than that :p

Ah, but remember this is for "Files Downloaded from Download.com" - you'd grab Acrobat from acrobat.com

Ive used most on that list but hated how ICQ can't save your list, tryed firefox only to have it screw up my computer (twice), napster was great, skype i only used once. Itunes will NEVER be installed on my computer.

Skype is a VoIP...used to be free, and very good quality. Now it's not free anymore.. :( At least not for international calls, which is what I used it for.

Steve Jobs said in his Keynote at WWDC that Quicktime had been downloaded over a billion times to date?

Anyway - ICQ 98a was the best, I still remember my number :D

    used em all except ad-aware.

    skype is damn good!

quicktime is a pain in the arse.

my icq number, i felt gutted for years i'd taken so long to sign up, giving me a stupidly high 4xxxxxxx range rather than a leading 2 :'(

Perhaps a sad indictment of the internet that a warez file-sharer and a spy-ware blocker make the list. Wot, no AV? :eyebrow:

True, though I will say AVG is a great little proggie! :) They do a nice job and it's kept nicely up-to-date.

cpemma, you bring up a very good (and very sad) point.

I've used a few of those programs (although the only one I still use is firefox), but what I found most interesting (and dissapointing) about the list is that a spy-ware removal program made it on to the list. Reminds one of how large the problem has grown is a few years.
