hmm, looks like its going to be controversial to say I didn't like the Senna bit that much. It was ok but it's just such a change of pace when Top Gear try to do something serious like that. It seems to sit awkwardly in the rest of the episode.

I seem to remember Hammond doing something similar a few series back which was a look back at the history of the Touring Car Championships which again just seemed out of place. It seems like the place they go when they run out of budget.

Overall a good episode though, though I though we could have done with more time on the Supersport and less time on Cruise and Diaz but hey, that was never going to happen.

I really enjoyed that ep. The SS and Touareg pieces were both good, and the SIARPC was actually pretty reasonable. I'd completely forgotten Cruise was rather a petrolhead.

The Senna piece was excellent imo - most people have no idea how utterly dominating Senna was, and I'm looking forward to the film too.

Good episode, 267 mph was impressive :jawdrop:

    Also, an enjoyable SIARPC segment!

The Senna film was unexpected, I knew nothing about him before, quite interesting (he jumped out of his F1 car to help someone! :jawdrop:)

I think it was a great, great episode. Easily the best of the series so far. The Senna bit was awesome

You know, one of the other good SIARPCs was probably Gordon Ramses.

    MAN what an episode (15x05)
    - The Veyron bit was good. It never ceases to impress me how that thing keeps climbing, even at 300+ km/h
    - The SIARPC bit was actually funny, and they can both drive. In spite of JC's brown nosing, it was good to watch.
    - The Senna bit was legendary....

That was a hell of an episode.

From the Veyron to the Senna bit, which gave me chills, overall an excellent bit of film.

Too bad I had to torrent it though, I hope they do one on Villeneuve and maybe Prost.

Just watched it on the iPlayer, and tbh I thought it was the best episode I've seen...

Minus Tom Cruise.. He just annoys me.

I thought the Veyron and Senna bits were great, the downhill run was OK, but a bit short.

I'm not overly convinced that Cruise & Diaz got the fastest SIARPC times - I'm a little cynical that the two largest Hollywood stars they've had on the show just hapened to get the two fastest times? It just seems a little coincidental to me...

Remember they are only the fastest out of about 8 drivers, they wont be at the top for long.

Tonight they take a Jensen-Healey, a Lotus and a TVR from Lotus' factory in Norfolk to TVR's in Blackpool.
SIARPC is Jeff Goldblum. Jezza drives Ferrari 458 Italia.

    Last episode next week.

I hated Tom Cruise, he said nothing of substance, somehow though Diaz to me was cool.

    The Website says

    Series 15
    Episode 6
6/7. The boys visit the remnants of the UK's sports car industry in old British roadsters.

maybe 7/7 is just a best bits of the previous 6?
