What about the last few minutes of tonight's show? I thought it was all done and dusted and a cheery goodnight, but Jeremy shows off what looks like some amazing tech in a BMW!

    1.44.7 on wet and oil.

He HAS to come back on dry, what was it the Stig "said"? Three to four seconds?

True, but Webber also said that it definately wasn't 4 seconds.

Perhaps Lewis should give up with F1 cars and start doing touring cars - he obviously has a bit of a gift for larger vehicles...

It was a very uninspired episode, I agree with Atanu on that one. The whole retro cars thing could have been a lot better, but just finding the first ignition key?

You knew that Hammond would be rubbish in any fast car because he doesn't have any training for it at all and obviously still has a bit of trepidation, which is fair enough.

If anything I thought the last portion was the best, just because of Hammonds singing and the self-driving car, they could have done a lot more with it.

Hopefully next weeks will be better.

Krikkit: even if it's half a second faster Hammond will be fastest, if it's a whole second then I'd be amazed!

Yeah, it looked damn fast. Amazing tech that they are putting out now.

As for Hamilton vs Stig, I am not sure, if they both went head to head, I think that the Stig might have the edge. Dunno why, just do.

I don't know, Lewis Hamilton seems to have bags more natural talent than most racing drivers.

I actually quite enjoyed the episode myself, at least they reviewed a sensibly priced car.

Yup - I quite enjoyed that one, it wasn't as glamorous as some eps, but it was back to a classic TG formula of a car review (more please!) and a few interesting features, along with a star in the car.

I think Hamilton probably would be faster than the stig, but then again the stig's probably a 2nd-rate F1 driver, Lewis is a prospective world champion and, as NiH has said, he's got a ****-ton of natural talent. I still don't like him though...

I thought it was quite a good ep myself.

James Blunt was actually funny, and the self driving beemer was cool (but if it ever makes it to market, it will, of course never use it's indicators. :))

The best bit? Lewis? Hamster in the Renault? The £35K Vauxhall smoking the M5? Nah.

It has to be a French owned F1 car playing "God save the Queen" with it's engine - that's priceless. :thumb:

Just watched it again, and from the looks of it the stig "showed" the self driving bmw round the track so it should be a bloody quick time, it'd be an ideal "pub" car to say the least

Kind of a dumb question, but how long ago did the limo car episode air, where they had a fiat, MG and a Saab/Alfa. It was on the BBC America, so I'm just wondering how long it'll take for episode to work there way over, or if they're just replaying random episodes.

Do you mean that bit when they had four cars on the track in a straight line race? That wasn't an M5 it was a 530

Yeah, but Webber moans about everything.:)

Really? My mistake... I could of sworn they where going on about it being so much cheaper than an M5 - I then assumed the Beemer would have been one.;)

And would have been $80k more. The 530 is 30k pounds more in the first place.

BMW claim a 4.7s 0-60 for the M5, Vauxhall claim a 4.9s 0-60 for the VXR8, thats hardly smoking it .
