Technically true, but the day Steam goes will be the day PC gaming dies. So to most of us it's just a locker for all our purchases, available anywhere, any time.

Hoping this game is everything that Diablo 3 was supposed to be. Otherwise, meh...

So a quick pop over to Metacritic has confirmed that Torchlight 2 has been launched. 3 Critic reviews (95, 90, and 90) and 1 user review at 9.

General consensus is that it is a "truly viable alternative to Diablo III" (AusGamers) :thumb:

ZOMGWTFBBQ!!11SHift+1 I can't wait! Gonna be a very long day at work today.
Think I might also have issues with work tomorrow and the lack of sleep..... :p

Cannot wait to get home tonight! I'll be hanging around on Steam/Mumble for the evening if anyone fancies playing a proper Diablo ;)

Loving the soundtrack - it feels very early Pink Floyd inspired.

The game however seems exactly like Torchlight 1 - I don't really see much difference. Is it better than Diablo 3? I would say tentatively 'yes', but only on the basis you can send your pets back to sell loot. Other than that I can't really say that it stretches the genre at all.

Lots of reused sounds from Torchlight 1, I really really like the maps though. Much more exciting than those in D3 or TL1

Started a Beserker last night, with a pet panther :D Really great fun!

The Like how they have scattered all these 1/2 level mini dungeons all over the place as part of side quests. Makes it feel like you not just slogging through one huge place the whole time, just doing extra stuff for lootz.

Now it feels like you in, grap, out. I can see myself just quickly jumping in, run one or two side quests, then quit for a quick 20 min play.

Ya, true a lot of sounds have been reused, but I like that.

So what's everyone else playing? Personally love playing the Beserker.

P.S: Don't play with a Panther pet if you use headphones that give a good amount of bass - thought my stomach was growling every 5 minutes :p

Playing as an Engineer - 'Death by Spanner'.

It's one of those games I think that I will pick up for an hour at a time - Borderlands 2 unlocked at midnight so that took my attention away!
