It started yesterday, and continuous each day this week, finsihing on Friday. Anybody else watching? I was quite impressed with the first episode - there was a genuine air of menace to it with the shady goings on of the government and UNIT... And it looks stuning in HD. Questions to be answered: Spoiler Who is the mysterious female Spec Ops leader? Who are the 456? What happened to Clemont to give him his special ability? Why did the government do what it did up on Scotland back in the 60's? Is Ianto dead? He was half way to the surface when Jack detonated How is Jack going to 'regenerate' after the bomb explosion? Looking forward to Day Two tonight.
Spoiler I suspect the explosion will lead the the creation of the Face of Boe... I enjoyed it but the reason I don't watch Torchwood comes through loud and clear, it feels like a really cheap version of Dr Who (and that's impressive)
Nah I doubt it as the trailer for next ep shows a Spoiler screaming red man who I assume is a skinless Jack
I did absolutely love it - didn't expect the Ianto/Jack storyline (I'd never finished watching the first series of Torchwood so I don't know if that was a new thing. But yes, I am very much looking forward to the rest of the series.... Joe
Watched Ep 1 earlier today, loved it. Got Ep 2 queued to be downloaded as soon as it's on iplayer servers. Woot!
I was about to ask, is Torchwood any better than Dr Who. However for to look even cheaper is an achievement indeed.
I've not seen it since about the 3rd episode so it may have changed, I just didn't get hooked into it.
Torchwood generally looked cheap, but this is getting much better, maybe they put three seasons budget into 5 episodes?
I didn't mind that so much - it's just TV gunplay. What I'd like to know is how Spoiler Ianto managed to rip the concrete out of the cell with a long boom fork lift truck - How did it grab it? Yes, he could probably get he forks in, but as soon as he backed up they'd just slip out... unless he used his Torchwood (TM) Sonic Screwdriver Rip-off and did something Who-ish to the forks...
