This is a question regarding a weird connection. Here’s the situation. Is it possible to do this?

A single laptop that is connected via an Ethernet cable on a network. That same laptop connected to a personal router via wireless. So there are two connections. Is there any way to use two different browsers so the proxy from the network will not authenticate and work without one? I guess I'm trying to say use internet explorer on the LAN connection and Mozilla on the wireless?

Is that possible? If so, how?

So far as I'm aware, Windows likes to only have you hooked up to one internet connection at a time. I've tried connecting to wireless networks in both Vista and XP while hooked up to a wired one before, and it just kicks me off of the wired connection. If one of the two connections isn't connected to the Internet, it may be possible.

Of course, this does leave wide open the question of WHY ON EARTH you would actually work towards achieving that kind of convoluted configuration...

    Sort of workaround:

install virtual PC / virtualbox on your PC and hook the virtual OS to the wireless while the PC uses the wired connection.

i *think* that should work, but it's a bit fiddly
