    Hey guys,

Just a suggestion really, but as bit-tech is quite big and quite a few deals go on within the trading section of the website have you ever thought of maybe using a trader rating system?

Would be nice to see :) Hope this is the correct forum.

    Cheers,

There was discussion before, but there's not any major demand for it. Bit-tech is primarily a tech discussion site, not a vending one.

Yes I am aware of this, but personally I think the Bit-Tech trading section (user) is fairly active, so maybe it would give people some confidence in purchasing?

Not that theres any problem as it is now, but I guess Bit-Tech would like to improve so being "okay" isnt quite enough?

Meh I dunno... Anyone elses thoughts?

I would like this. Of course bit-tech's primary function is to provide a forum for people to post pictures of their cats, but since a good deal of trading does go on in the for sale/wanted section, a way of tracking user reputation would be good. The question it comes down to is a cost/benefit one - how much will it cost (in time) for RTT to hack something together, and does the benefit of such a system outweigh the cost. Personally I place almost no value in RTT's time, so it's a no brainer for me.

    Hey,

Nothing much 'concrete' though I cant really find.

Would it be that hard for bit-tech to do the trader rating system? Not like hexus's, just the standard "Trader Rating" which appears under the username if you know what I mean?

It was just a thought anyway :)

Sorry I meant to link to here: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=107422

    We discussed it but basically:

    a) Needs a lot of moderation
    b) People get friends to write good feedback
    c) If people complain all hell breaks loose and they expect us to do something about it
    d) It'll be a novelty and last for about 2 months before people forget about it

It makes it seem that Bit is condoning and supporting trading, whereas instead we just offer a facility for you lot to get on with it. I would have liked forum rep to be enabled, but we're back to "B" again.

Simple ans to this is to get the buyer to leave a comment in the thread (good or bad) once he/she has the goods, then close it.

For buyers to check just requries a simple advance search of the sellers username in the fsale forum.

I guess people are lazy

Exactly Koola, it's not hard to leave a simple comment once you've purchased something just to let everyone know how the transaction went. People need to put in a little bit of effort sometimes to make the community better.
