Has anyone seen or know where you can get, transfer sheets that you can print of.

basicly stuff like you get in model kits eg dip in water and apply.

when to stationary shop and they had like a plastic (laminate) that you could print on got feeling would be quite think.

I want it so i can spray my live drive bezel (to silver) and then put labels back on, maybe do same on cd drives.

    thanks

I used Laszertran (inkjet variety) available from www.lazertran.com, though there are a few other companys too. This is what I did:

    Step 1 - Print transfers

Step 2 - Apply transfer (pic is of ls-120 drive)

    Step 3 - Varnish

    Finished.

the lazertran looks the what i'm after.

How thick is it, and after varnish is it pretty hard to see the edges of the transfer

Kermet any change of a close up around the decals on your live drive

    thanks

    Nice find Kermet. :thumb:

I just got off the phone with them.

If you have a laser printer (or posssibly a photocopier) that uses toner - you can use the ones which are pre-gummed.

If you only have an inkjet, you have to do the self-gumming and laquering thing (something about the crystals in the gum turning white on inkjet paper).

[Edit] Batsman - I'd guess enough coats should mean you can get away without having the edges show.

Yeah, if you have to use the inkjet variety (like me) then you have to give it a coat of glue (if you want it to stay white) or varnish (if you want it to go clear). They give instructions for doing this but I did it a little differently, I soaked of the decal and applied it without any gum or glue then when it had dried just applied the varnish (used windsor and newton clear varnish - available from all decent art shops) to everywhere apart from the body of the logos in the top left and top right. I then sprayed the whole thing in plasti-kote clear sealer.

batsman, after applying the varnish the decal goes see-through and the varnish smoothes out the edges, this makes it difficult to see except under close inspection with light in the right direction.

Pug, don't know much about the lazertran lazer printer variety, is the paper still white until varnished? If you don't need any white bits (or have an Alps printer - can print white) there are other companies (though only found them in the US) that do paper thats already clear, though only for lazer printers.
