What will be the best way to make a piece of plexi work like a gamer's pad?
I was thinking about smoothnes, so it will probably involve sanding (or maybe not since the plexi is already smooth)
Any help on this will be great :)

I think an optical mouse will not work on plexi because it is too smooth and shiney. You would have to make the plexi rough - like using some rough sandpaper on the plexi to make it rough, in order for the mouse to work.

It functions pretty poorly. In fact, the "freebie" blue fabricmousemats have way less friction than a piece of plexi. Just try and you'll see.

I am a hardcore gamer. All I can say is the best mouse pads are dirt cheap. Get a cloth mouse pad. That is the key in mouse pads. This new stuff sucks even the plastics mouse pads made for gamers suck. Get a really large cloth mouse pad. In Canada you can get a small/regular size airbrushed with anything you want on it for like $15 CND with is like $.02 any were else m8s. Well good luck just make sure to use a cloth base and use a 1600DPI mouse.
