IF a company were to make transparent keys for your keyboard (so you could put LEDs or EL behind them and have them lit), how many people would be interested? If you're interested in the idea, post your keyboard make/model type info.

I've heard that the flexible one is uncomfortable as hell, until you get used to it. Buying a keyboard from mac? :eeek:

Edit: Also, just looked at the apple site, the keys on those are either white or black :D

the flexi ones suck if your used to a keyboard with the strong spring like keys.

why not take an old compaq style keyboard with the "\" above the enter key and have it remade in translucent plastics and put CCFL's or something in it with a switch to turn them on.

actually, it might be better with an EL sheet under all the keys so you dont have the harse light.

Does no one catch the idea that it's transparent KEYS not a transparent keyBOARD? The second idea is that it's not only for me.

do all keyboards use identical keys?

i would says its very unlikely. I think it would be cool to have a illuminaated keyboard but it would have to be sold like that.

No, keyboards do not use identical keys, that's why I asked for what keyboard people use. Majority rule in this case. The keys would be transparent, that doesn't mean lighting comes with it. You can easily put lighting in your keyboard. Even if a company made transparent keyboards, they wouldn't include lighting.

Go for it, man. I use a microsoft natural keyboard. Tons of room for lighting in it so transparent keys would be sweet.

I'd buy them if they were at a reasonable price (less than the keyboard). I use a Microsoft Natural Keyboard and will be getting a Natural Pro (one with 2 usb and quicklaunch buttons) soon.

The PC Line keyboard looks quite dark. What's it like when it's lit?
Lazy, how about you pick up one of those kb's and ship it this way? :D

If you've ever looked inside a keyboard, you'd realise that transparent keys would make it dead ugly! :miffed:

If you keep the dirt out it wouldn't be ugly. Transparent keys+canned air+lighting solution=teh masta

The flexible keyboard is insanely uncomfortable, I've been told. Not to mention one would have a hell of a time trying to light it.
