To get games to line up across the 3 screens I had drop the res to 1440x900 on the side monitors so the screens lined up with my 30" then add sothTH to the bin folder of any game and start up a game. Goto the res selection in the game and you should see a res of 4560x1600. Weird isn't it how the game matches up pixel perfect over the 3 monitors and setup a default res of 4560x1600 instead of 4360x1440. Simon
Simon did you get L4D to work? I'm going to try that config file, I notice you forced the res there, so I will see if that helps. For some reason now I am getting this failed to create D3D device so I am going to uninstall the game and re-install it and try the new config file.
I got mine to work ok with both L4D1 and L4D2 using a similar conf file (just adjusted the resolutions)... (side monitors darkened for image purpose only to indicate the placement of each screen.) As I recommended before you should check out the fixes for L4D1/L4D2 @ http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/Master_Games_List_-_L which have on going discussions on HUD fixes and ways to tweak the crosshair... that appears to grow 3x larger on tri screen setups
you guys rock.... still downloading so I'll have a look at the fixes. If I can get this working in L4D2 I am going to be the happiest guy alive.
Thanks mate. Don't forget to leave us reputation. lol I was the happest guy alive when i first got my setup working. Awesome!!! This makes me want to save up and buy 2 more 30" monitors. Just so I can get Eyefinity to work. Simon
Ok, almost done so I will give it a try.... I notice that I am using 1.07 and the config file is 1.09. I have .07 because I read someplace that that was the one to use. Am I wrong? I don't even see 1.09 on the SoftTH website?
Holy mother of god it just worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, I do have a huge crosshair and I can't seem to get the side panels to respond as well as the center. It seems like they lag a bit? Is that normal? Thanks guys!!!!!
No, they should not lag behind. Keep playing with the setting till you get it right. You will find some games work straight away with no hassle. Simon
Check out the forum for v1.09, 2nd from top post, sticky http://www.kegetys.net/forum/index.php?topic=795.0 For the crosshair, your best bet is a static crosshair mod... (trying to find link) As True Gamer says, keep playing with the setting till you get it right, and no, they should not lag, tweak it, your get there For the HUD your need to edit the hudlayout.res file located in... \Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\pak01_dir.vpk There are more detailed instruction of how to edit this file and what to edit here
Thanks for the link Delphium. I wouldn't of known it was out till they would have posted it on the main page. Simon
Aye, they added support for CUDA also , although it only works on 32bit systems, somethng to do with 64bit cuda requires the game to be coded in 64bit also apprently, or so a vaugely recall from the softTH forums.
I'm thinking that these side monitors just might suck. Let me see what they do as primary single gaming displays. Does anyone know of any good 1600 x whatever 20 inchers?
They ain't the best monitors. But the best 20" to fit perfect against are 30" is the 2007fp http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&sku=59230 Simon
