Too much emo-style OTT vocals for me. The Deftones have a lot to answer for! ;)

But they do use Flying V's which are undeniably rock.

They need more attitude, and less "oh, woe is me".

We need more balls in rock nowadays.. ;)

Dude, they're a completely different genre. I don't know how much Dimmu you've heard, but they're a damned long way from Trivium...

I wasnt comparing Dimmu Borgir to Trivium, Dimmu are Black Metal and Trivium are moving towards the Thrash Metal area. I asked it cause under his name it said Death Cult Armageddon, which is the title of one of Dimmu's albums.

Before I start, I know that this post is going to sound like a fanboy post. I do appreciate that Trivium have bad points as well as good.

Just because it's not your thing, doesn't mean it's crap. And your asking all bands to stop doing vocals and musical style that isn't appealing to everybody?
Imo, the songs are quite technical, I certainly can't play guitar or drums like that.

I don't see emo vocals, really.

I do agree with that, we need some more decent thrash/speed metal, a new Metallica/Slayer. I know Trivium were meant to be the next Metallica, but i can't see it happening :)

    Testament, Vio-Lence, Machine Head, Anthrax,
We need to start a metal thread tbh. I'm always up for new stuff, just never know what to get. i'm a fan of Corpse, but haven't heard much of the others.

    Now to acquire them...

If you don't look like the number twelve, you're not listening to music properly.

Indeed that was me too. CoB are awesome, however I prefer their stuff from Hate Crew Deathroll and further back, Are You Dead yet isnt that inspiring. Hopefully going to Wacken this year to which I will see them.
