    trueSpace3 for free! (Or cheap)
The program you have seen me make lots of stuff with, is available for free with the Comptuer Art magazine.

I was just at the bookstore, and noticed that issue 78 of Computer Arts magazine has a full version of trueSpace3 included.
This magazine is UK published but also available in the US.
    Here's the link. Issue 78

I own trueSpace 1, 2, 3, and 4, but I personally love and use trueSpace3 most of the time.

    Visit www.caligari.com for more info

You can make stunning super high-res images like these:

Is this something that could be used to model case ideas, accurately?

Yes, you can get accurate down to the 'mm

Here is a measurement accurate render of my media PC
I think the magazine is the Dec issue, but either way you can order back issues from their site.

Computer Arts is indeed a UK mag. Published in Bath by Future publishing I believe.

GMax was made for the game 'modding' community to stop them pirating the full version of 3DS, and at the moment its worked.

This is why you can also get the learning version of Maya ;)

I downloaded the trueSpace 5.1 demo but can anyone point me to some decent newbie tutorials? I've seen some tutorials but hardly any of them are for beginners and those that are, are either for a different version of true space or start with something like "To start click the active render scene button" but I have no idea which button that is! :sigh:

    ZapWizard help!

I must admit I have a soft spot for Truespace.. it was the one app which let me model in realtime.

I think I'll go and buy the magazine. :)

I have used the demo for 5.1 but never used it for a long time.
I have a full version of trueSpace4 but I still like 3 better
The full version comes with demos and tutorials, but other than that, just mess around.

I have been just messing around with trueSpace learning as I go since middle school. (I'm now in my fifth year of college)

Issue 33 of 3D World (also a UK mag) has Truespace3 and Wirefusion 2.1 for free as well (full versions). I just picked it up at Barns and Noble. I couldnt remember the mag that Zap said, so I just checked out all the UK mags with cds and found this.

Since I wont be moving into my new house with the shop until the 23rd, I figure I can model my design until then.

    Nice

I'd make the floor bigger though. or add a black background or something.

And I still haven't figured out how to render stuff in truespace 5.1 yet! :waah: I figured out how to change the anti aliasing but I can't find the actual "Render" button. The interface is so infuriating for a newbie!! :miffed: :wallbash:
