I missed the bit where the Democrats also lost the senate - so Trump has absolutely nothing standing in his way. If you thought his first term was a nightmare, you'd better strap in.

I saw a comment elsewhere from a MAGA saying that “mark my words, sh** will get done now”, and… Yes, I agree: sh** will get done now. And there’s absolutely nothing that anyone can do to stop it because there’s no one left who can stop it. Thy wish is his command. Bracing for a fire you can see coming doesn’t change how badly that fire will burn you. By the time we get to 2029, an awful lot of people will have been charred to ashes.
Which isn't even half as horrifying as the reality of TrumptyDumpty being the plaything of entirely unaccountable weirdos like Musk, Thiel, Netanyahu, Putin etc.

This is America being America. It's who they are, who they have always been. meanwhile the UK, EU, et al who saw thing coming and knew this was a possibility just sat with their thumb up their ass going 'this is fine...'
I'm curious as to what you think European leaders could do to change the minds of the American electorate, which has overwhelmingly voted in a convicted criminal who is displaying signs of dementia.
To affect the result? Nothing. It still stands that they did nothing to prepare themselves for the consequences of such a result nor take any mitigating steps. They just sat in the headlights of the oncoming runaway train and did naught but hope it would derail. Well guess what? It didn't derail. And now they're feigning shock that a train is about to hit them.
This and the Project 2025 stuff is what's really scary - Trump has basically bent over backwards to get these people to carry him in again, and now he's in they're owed their dues. Even the smaller things like RFK Jr. being influential in healthcare is horrifying.
