Also he explicitly told Europe that he doesn't need or want help with it because Murica is all powerful and has already won anyway and he previously threatened the security of Canada and Denmark and with all the shady business deals his friends and family are doing with the Saudis, UAE etc he should probably be considered compromised and that isn't even a remotely complete list of reasons to let him sort out his own mess.

Dear Leader is big mad at Bibi attacking the Iranian gas field, for only one reason.
If gas field blows up, Dear Leader cannot seize it and sell all the gas.

Which will take billions of dollars and about a decade before it sees any realistic production (and therefore profit).

If it was valuable enough, the US would have seized it while Trump was just a failed businessman with a nice sideline in reality TV. Probably long before that, even.

Call me cynical, but this seems more calculated (by people who are not Trump) than people think. Nothing helps the far right more than a cost of living crisis. It worked in Italy and Germany in the 20s and 30s. It swept Trump back to power in 2024 from the political boonies.

By starting a war in the middle east and driving fuel prices through the ceiling, cost of living in Europe spirals. That gives the populist parties all the backing they need. Of course the Trump association people like Farage have is a drag, but the public has a short memory and they have the press on their side. In a couple of years when the next sets of UK/French/German election role around the shock factor of the Iran war will be gone and the inflation it causes will be 'the government's' fault. If the Isrealis keep it up there'll probably be a new refugee crisis to contend with as well.

Even if the Republicans get aniihilated in the mid-terms, Trump gets impeached and thrown in a cell, theyve already done teh damage. In the US they've gotten so many concessions it will take a century to undo if it happens at all, so now the target is Europe.

He's such a lackey, makes you wonder what transpired on that island and what they actually have on him. Yes. I know rumors and accusations aren't evidence.

Ok, when Mango Mussolini kept saying they were in talks with Iran and Iran kept saying they weren't, my simple little brain couldn't process it. Why would Iran deny such a thing if it was happening? And why would Trunp say it if it wasn't remotely true?

Then we read that just prior to Trump making that statement, which caused oil prices to come back down a bit, there was an unprecedented $500m short trading of oil stocks.

That guy is so ****ing crooked, he couldn't even lie straight in bed.

The entire apparatus that’s been built around him is the part that’s crooked. Trump himself is too stupid to be crooked - the man couldn’t even make a casino work in his favour.

This, Trump is only Trumping like he is bc [primarily, but not solely] Mike Johnson and John Roberts let him do it.

Those that can stop him, won't, and those that would, can't.

He did - they apparently agreed to let ten tankers through the strait. He fails to mention that, under normal conditions, the number is closer to 110 tankers per day.

I mean we were getting oil from there just fine until he bumbled in with no idea, no clue and just some egging on by Netanyahu.

He couldn't even understand the rules of noughts and crosses let alone chess.

    Absolute idiot.

In the immortal words of Michael Lee Aday, you took the words right out of my mouth.

I must say, in this specific case at least, my aversion has withered somewhat.
