Ok so lately I've been wondering about this question. Now the fact seems to be that some review sites just either aren't honest about the results, suck on the manufacturers, or otherwise just plain suck, so please, tell me your trusted review sources.

My personal favorites are Bit-tech, Silentpcreview and Jonnyguru, and ofcourse Metku.net and Muropaketti for Finnish sites.

There seems to be a lot of crap flying on Tomshardware, some on Anandtech, and so on and so forth, so which sites can I actually trust?

Hmm, I actually find Anandtech reviews to be pretty good and they are often the most in-depth reviews around.

    TH sucks, simple as.

In addition to the ones you mentioned (apart from the Finnish ones :p), some others I generally trust are:

    http://www.overclock3d.net/index.php
    http://www.overclockersclub.com/
    http://www.guru3d.com/
    http://www.hardocp.com/
    http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/
    http://www.hexus.net/
    http://www.legitreviews.com/
    http://www.xbitlabs.com/

EDIT: I generally try to get a decent overview from a few different trustworthy sites. I never feel comfortable buying/not buying something based on a single review, not because I don't trust certain sites, but because there may be issues that one reviewer might not have picked up on during the course of their testing, or they could have got lucky with the sample they received where it turns out there are actually a number of quality control issues with the product.

I'd also be interested to hear if anyone has seen any suspect/biased reviews on any of the above sites, as it may make me reconsider how much weight I put on their opinions in the future.

I already mentioned Bit-tech, but thanks anyway. And Trusted Reviews seems awfully much like a pun :) But thanks smc, and I guess you got what I meant, it's a good idea to compare reviews, but I just recently got totally fed up with the 3dgameman crap and some other reviews, that obviously weren't trustworthy...

Trustedreviews were a sister site of BT if I recall correctly.

I usually go by BT's reviews, sometimes Engadget links to good reviews too, otherwise I google around and read several reviews from random sites

    Plus rep for that!

If you guys don't like it or won't buy it - I don't need it or recommend it. If it's good you guys and B-T will say so.

anandtech seems to have become a bit of an apple fanboy.... im beginning to get bored of the site now.
gave up on toms a while ago.
hardocp is hit and miss, probably depending on who wrote the article. some of their reviews have been atrocious.

I like xbitlabs (apart from its mass antec reviews, if you read them you might see what i mean). along with bit-tech they seem to be more accurate than elsewhere.
hardware canucks, legitreviews are fairly decent too.

I just got pissed after searching for reviews of a headset (that I now have at hand) when someone described the sound quality as "perfect". Either the guy hasn't listened to any decent audio equipment, or he's deaf, which both seem perfectly good reasons not to test audio stuff.

It's such a shame there's no real way of telling if a review is sincere opinions, or just plain corporate whoring..

Bit-tech, although because of their honesty, some companies refuse to give them things..:(

Don't go to Guru3D because, their conclusions are ambiguous, is it good or not?

Here, Anandtech(sometimes) and pretty much the rest from SMC's list.

i like ars, although they generally don't seem to follow the traditional review format. it tends to just be more of a discussion of the technology involved.

I wish you all could live on our side of the fence, there's so much that goes on in our industry.

It's not the side of the fence that's the problem! It's the BIG ditch full of water that comes first. :D

If I did, the time it would take to move would just outweigh the benefits.

I think I'm happy not to be too deeply involved in the "industry" part of the stuff. Stuff just comes on my door steps, I excitedly unwrap it, test it, tell my opinion and that's it. Keeping it simple is good.
