Thing is though you can browse to the root of the FTP where porn is... I'm sure you could change it somehow so that you can't get to the root

I know what u are gettin at m8, but all we ask is that u don`t post "links" to images which can be back trailed to find things such as warez or pr0n, use the code as dougie expresses... try [img.]picture link and it should show your picture, and its not going to get bit-tech in trouble for blatent links that contain pr0n/warez, etc p.s. we aren`t gonna kick u off the forums, cos I think u understand what we are trying to get at, its the persistent "lamers" that get themselves kicked off the forums, plus... it would be a decision of someone in a higher position than myself too, with me being nothing more than a global moderator

just get him to run apache or something... then you can host them over http and they'll definitely work! also there shouldn't be any problem with going up directories thru apache if the images are at root for apache... it won't let ppl go higher!
im over at his place now and this is what where doing his backing his hdd up on my hdd then formatting and fdisking his hdd with a 2 gig partition for me then where puttin all his crap back on his hdd so if i do post links there wont be any warez or ne thing like that would that be ok or should i just get a proper host
proper hosts are l33t as RTT says... but if you are hosting from home/someone else's then hosting over http is preferable to ftp still... course YOU can upload the files via ftp but only allow ppl to dl off http
so what do i run and where can i get it so they can see my pics but i also wanna try it like this b4 i go out and do a hole heap of things to change it
Nope it doesn't like ftp links Does your ISP not give you any space that you can upload pictures to? Meblin
no it gives us a 10 mb ftp site so i would rather run my own then use 10mb i have 2 gig of my own space
