As the title suggest I have an old Compaq Presario 5000EA and cannot identify the mobo. I have these specs http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...c=de&site=null&lang=en&key=null&product=92871 but I was actually looking for either the mobo manual or specs.
Programs like Everest (now called AIDA64?) can usually give you a fairly detailed overview of a pc. http://www.lavalys.com/support/downloads/
Open it up, there's usually some product numbers floating around that if you google may reveal stuff to you Are you looking for the specific motherboard name or just specs? As Mr Bag says, CPU-Z will give you the chipset info and such easily.
Sorry guys the PC was knackered, I have remove the mobo. So no to software. Not much in the way of product numbers either.
For OEM boards, it's unlikely there will be a manual, but that link you gave us gives alot of the specs...
As with many oem, they seemed to have used at least 3 different motherboards for that model number. There will be at least a part number on it somewhere, which will be your only hope of identifying it if you're looking for an exact replacement or something.
Not so much a replacement, just a manual. The board works OK,just it has some odd connections which I would like to identify. No big deal really, I very much doubt if I could flog something as ancient as this.
Perhaps just posting a pic of what you want identified would be easier? Or if you don't have that ability a detailed description of the connection, shape, amount of pins, etc.
