I haven't bought tubing in a while, but have had a complete memory blank...

What is the common size that everyone uses now? I remember when I bought it last time, there was two sizes one I think very thin with an OD about a fingers width and the other with an ID about a fingers width (The size I bought)... But reading the sizes on shops I am getting very confused now!

So.. As noob a question as it is, which size am I looking for?

The most common is 10/13mm (3/8"-1/2") as far as I'm aware. It's what I use anyway.

    3/8"ID, 5/8"OD or 1/2"ID, 3/4"OD are common. I prefer the first.

I think the 10/13 is the one I used, it sounds about right. The option Big Elf has said, sounds to me like it has a very thick wall in the tube and therefore would not be very flexible?

10/13 has a nice size for the barb, tube is not too big and the diameter of the tube wall is only 3mm so it gives you some flexibility?

3/8"ID, 5/8" is probably the best compromise between thickness and flexibility as it can bend quite a bit before kinking.

1/2"ID, 3/8"OD is prone to kinks unless the tubing is pretty much in straight runs.

This is 3/8"ID, 5/8"OD and the couple of sharp bends wouldn't be possible with the 1/2"ID, 3/8" unless using anti-kink coils

This is an old picture of my setup, can you work out what tubing this is from the picture?

    I think that might be 1/2"ID, 3/4"OD
