For the last couple of weeks I've been unable to use any of the HTML functions/features when writing a post or new thread, so I can't click on the icons to like bold, italic resize, font, smilies etc etc, I don't how to get it back on... I noticed at the bottom of the post editor that it says HTML code is off... I don't know what I did but it seems I've accidentally done something that has turned it off, can anyone here direct me to where I can turn HTML coding on again please? Thanks PS and by the way I'm using Firefox
The forum uses BBCode, which is like HTML, only it uses square brackets rather than angled brackets - so the forum code for bold is Code: [ b]some text[ /b] [ url=http://www.blah.com/]a link[ /url] (but without the spaces) and so on. You can learn about BBCode here. HTML code means that the editor recognises standard HTML directives as well as BBCode, but its being off is a forum-wide setting, which AFAIK isn't changeable by users. The only reason I could think that the buttons don't work is that you have some kind of adblocker or script blocker installed, because the editor uses JavaScript to work.
I tried turning off my adblocker add-on and that doesn't seem to make in difference, any other ideas?
HTML code is not allowed on these forums. Only BBCode. If you wish to reset your editor options, go into your User CP, choose Edit Options from the left menu and scroll down to the section marked ' Miscellaneous Options '. In there, choose either Standard or Enhanced from the dropdown list for the option 'Message Editor Interface'.
