The one I am using is called Real World Icon Editor

 

A load more of new ones are (on their way) up. I've lost track of who png's have come from but most of them are up as 256x256 icons and png's now. The zip files have all been updated as well.

I actually record most of my Tv, it's much better quality and it's far quicker. Unfortunately not everything is available for recording, but I do justify my actions because most of the stuff I nick is BBC stuff, which I help pay for.

EDIT: Will, I love you, awesome job*.

*But I do hate Peter Davison as Doctor Who, I'll be changing that.

All the ones you've asked for are up. They are at the bottom of what is now quite a list! Ctrl + F is probably the best and easiest way of finding things now.

 

maybe if you have an HDTV
but otherwise you can usually get hdtv versions of shows online

 

I disagree, a Freeview signal is really a high fidelity one if you have the proper codecs and deinterlacers. It looks ok on a normal TV but on my monitor it looks awesome.
I downloaded a HD torrent once, it was a smaller resolution than what my Tv card gives out.

 

heh, theres a multitude of different 'standards' when it comes to downloading TV eps
i've pulled TV off our freeview PVR, its nowhere near as good as a proper HDTV cap

for a 45min HDTV show theres a few standard forms:
~350mb xvid - usually refered too as simply 'HDTV XviD' these are like 620x350 ish and mp3 audio, not that great
~700mb xvid - 'HR HDTV XviD', higher res and ac3 audio, pretty good
~1.2gig x264 - usually refered to as '720p hdtv x264', absolutely stunning full 720p res, look fantastic, ac3 audio
~6gig TS - really for people who want to re-encode in whatever form they like, basically raw mpeg2

obviously filesizes vary for show length but the 45min ones are most common

'PDTV' rips are usually what you get for freeview shows (ie when i forget spooks is on and download it later its a PDTV rip), they're about the same as the 350mb hdtv rips subjectively
