TV Shows Tv links shut down?

    I was just about to see if the latest episode of house had been uploaded to tv links to find it wasnt working. I did a search for "Tv links down" and came across this!

    Do any of you guys use tv links? Thoughts?

    It's a shame, but I was expecting it to go down at some point. It will be missed, but probably replaced by something similar. :)

    my brother uses that all the time, he'll be pissed.

    it was really just a matter of time, though. if they can shut down sites that link to torrents, they can shut down sites that aggregate streaming content.

    My mates like it, but personalty, I can't stand the low quality.

    I'd much rather just wait a couple of hours for the torrent to come down.

    aha! that's why I can't pull up the page :( that's a shame.. found a really awesome anime linked on there... so awesome, that I went out and bought the book it was based on... it's too bad people don't see these as a good advertisement for media :( *sigh* ah well, time to wait till somebody else starts something similar I guess?

    It used to move about I think, pretty sure the address changed a few times, guess they didn't move quickly enough this time. Ach well, nothing like that lasts forever.

    well, the good thing is that most of the sites that tv-links actually linked to are still up :) so if you search hard enough you can find what you want it seems

    That's what I do. TVRss.net :) The only shows that interest me are on late anyways, so by the time they hit either a website or a torrent, I really should be asleep.

    Ohh man, i used to use it quite a lot.
    Frankly, im kind of surprised its been taken down, I was sort of expecting it to but it seemed to take so long i thought they might actually continue to get away with it.

    its not that much of a surprise, but i just don't get what is so hard to understand about the fact the link to hosted material does not constitute piracy? its the content hosting companies job to make sure the content is complaint with their t+c's, not a user of there service. surely its a problem to do with the embed links the content hosters provide, not the use of the links?
    The only problem i can see about tv-links is its context. The fact it offered categorized links, showed it was deliberately targeting full programs. That was compounded by having a movies section which is pretty much red rag to a bull for copy right. i would imagine due to the aggregated nature of of the content someones going to try and argue that they were providing a means to broadcast the material, which wasn't really the case at all, it was more like a tv listing for different channels (content hosters), rather than whats on tv now, whats on the net now

    FACT (people who brought the action), are just going for the lowest hanging fruit, if they thought they could damage the hosting sites (google, youtube, stage6, guba etc.) they would, but they know to quote patric moore on the comet hitting jupiter, they would have as much effect against the hosting sites, as trying to stop a charging rhino by throwing a baked bean at it. So they are going in with all guns blazing screaming pirates. i wish i had enough faith in the legal system to believe they could be shown to be complete and utter idiots, but i think they will just drag it out if it looks it wont go there way, cripple tv-links one way or the other, legally or financially

    MEH!!! not a good way to get rid of hangover, only wanted to watch some cartoons or something to slowly ease me out of hangover

    yeah most of the vids i'd watch on youtube were from stage6 but I just cant seem to find anything when using their site.
