Over the last two (!) decades my TV watching has been sporadic, infrequent and prone to looooooong gaps; so would be great to know what shows I should (have) watch(ed).

I'll give anything a go, but lean towards Science-Fiction as my go-to genre.

Don't worry about stating the obvious, as I expect I will have missed some of them!

    Sister thread for films

I loved Warehouse 13. Definitely worth a watch IMO. Kind of sci-fi/indiana jones type thing.

The Punisher was pretty good, albeit a slow burn and fairly predictable.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is also great if you don't mind a bit of satanism.

    Scifi:-
    • The Expanse (Near-future scifi)
    • Star Trek: Discovery (Do you really need a description?)
    • The Orville (Better Star Trek than Star Trek: Discovery)
    • Killjoys (Space bounty hunters)
    • Project Blue Book (Set in the early 1950's. Mad Men go hunting UFOs)
    • Fringe (Parallel universe shenanigans)

I'd agree with The Expanse - excellent sci-fi.

ST: Discovery was a bit of a letdown, IMO, and The Orville is ****ing dire, again IMO.

The Punisher season 1 was pretty good, but I'm told season 2 is less so.

There is a reboot of The Twighlight Zone that I've heard good things about. Not seen myself yet.

I believe it only started last week.

In other news, I'm looking forward to "Warrior" - It's supposed to be like "Peaky Blinders" in Chinatown, San Francisco, and exec-produced by Bruce Lee's daughter Shannon.
I hear it's based on a show pitched to Hollywood by Lee in the early 70's. Urban legend says the execs turned him down, but not David Carradine when he showed up with a very similar pitch called "Kung Fu".

    BSG 2003
    Caprica (works with BSG)
ST Discovery (if your into star trek)
    The Expanse
    Nightflyers (Mild Horror/Mystery/Thriller)
    Westworld (new version)
    Altered Carbon
    Lost in Space 2018 series
    Killjoys

Lots of Sci Fi to get stuck into, not sure what else

Slightly older but worth a watch on Sci-fi side:

    Farscape
    Firefly (+ Serenity Movie)
Dr Who (David Tennant and Matt Smith seasons would be my starting point)

    Can't go wrong with:
Game of Thrones (my missus even liked this despite lots of bewbs)
Dexter (first 3 or 4 seasons - goes down hill after that)
Entourage (my missus even liked this despite lots of bewbs - maybe i should worry!)
Orange is the new black (first few seasons were excellent but slowly goes downhill)

I also rather enjoyed The Man in the High Castle. It was a bit hard going sometimes, but certainly a good watch :)

I enjoyed Enterprise, but imo it has one of the worst finales ever. So much so I can't bring myself to re-watch the final ep.
