HTPC TV Tuner card

Quick question, is there a TV tuner card that takes RCA audio not just video? Other than that it should just be able to take a RF (coax?) cable. Can be either PCI or PCI-E.

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1100 does, I think.

 

Interresting, google image search brings up two identical cards but only one of them have RCA audio, the happauge site only seems to show the one that doesn't.

I'm pretty sure they're the same thing... The difference being the former has the RCA audio jacks in the form of a headphone jack with an IR jack for a remote, and the ladder with the actual jacks and no IR. Looks to me like the jack on the first one says 'Line In'.

First one just use something like THIS adapter and you should be good to go.

 

The thought just occurred to me... why not just capture sound through your sound card?

 

You mean Line-In? Because i already have an xbox 360 hooked up to that.

Are you using the mic too? Often it can be set to line-level inputs in the control panel, giving you a second line-in.

 

Yeah i use a mic sometimes but that's interresting, i'll have to take a look around in the settings.
