I've decided that I don't want the 8-month old to pull the TV down on top of herself so it's time to wall-mount. It's a 32" LG 32lh3000 so not too massive but it's in the chimney breast so we need a pull-out arm so we can see it in the rest of the room. I've looked around and will probably grab something like this or this unless anyone has any specific recomendations. However I was having trouble working out why they all have tall thin mounting plates when I was hoping for somethign a bit wider. Then I realised that they assume you have a plasterboard wall and the only problem is to find the stud and then will want to stick 4 screws in one above the other. Alas I have a different problem. The walls are granite, very old and thus you may hit solid stone or go between the blocks and hit a load of junk or voids. Worse still you have little guarantee on managing to make a hole in the same place that you start drilling as bits are harder than others. I still I'll have to fix a plank of wood across the wall giving me plenty of room to find some solid anchors, paint it and then scew the bracket into that. Of course then I've only got a couple of cm of timber to hold it now, but at least it's not a monster set. All in what would be a qick job in a flat will probably take half the day and a lot of dust and cursing
Hi Risky. I bought my swivelling bracket from RS100 UK. The the powertec model I have is not listed any more but the smaller version is still available. The build quality is excellent and its been up for over a year with no sign of any sagging on the arm. The part which fits to the wall is slightly different to my bracket but it gave plenty of mounting options and I attached mine directly to a masonry wall.
I would also suggest this as well, it looks like it's better built than the ones you listed chum, not that you can tell build quality just by looking, or that the ones you listed where of poor build quality, but yeah hopefully you understand what I'm trying to get at :S
thanks, guys. That looks a lot better. I have a rather tight height tollerance as it needs to slide in just below a shelf and that should be a lot easier to work with.
