i would go for the all in wonder, as it would be higher quality recording all around. and it wouldnt clog teh usb bus in your computer. plus, its one less thing for cats to kick around. (ive got 4, i know how much fun it is to funk with computers.)

Don't talk rubbish, the older usb tv cards were but usb 2.0 devices are as good as pci cards. I have pvr250 and a usb2 pvr and they use exactly the same chip and give out the same quality captures.

moddenmania: If you want a good hardware card look at the hauppauge pvr150 which can be had for £60 or US$70. If you want a hardware mpeg4 one look at the tv walker (I think the mini isn't hardware based though).

If your pc is below 1.8ghz (not 1800+) I would go for a hardware based card which are dearer. If your looking for a cheap software based tv card look at the compro video mate range they are regarded as giving some of the best picture quality for the money. The cheapest compro has a mono tuner but for an extra fiver or so you can get a stereo tuner one and radio.

Here a few reviews of the ati usb card you were looking at
