We've ditched Sky (hurrah!) but, despite initially telling me otherwise, the missus says it would be nice to pause/rewind/record freeview channels. Now Humax do a cheap sub-£80 box which lets you pause/rewind/record if you plug in a USB HDD, but you can't record one channel whilst watching another, and it looks like a fooking huge premium is required to step up from a single tuner to twin tuner i.e. an extra £100 Anyone got any recommendations? It has to be a Freesat box - reception for Freeview via aerial is a bit hit and miss around here in anything but perfect weather conditions. Cheers all.
I remember reading that you can use the Sky box dude, so no need to change anything. You need to keep your old card in there though IIRC. You should get and be able to record any Freesat channel
No, you can't. Sky were quite emphatic about it, when I cancelled - but I checked anyway. You can view the free-to-air channels, but that's it.
Sky have long since disabled all the freeview channels if you don't pay for for a subscription. So you can not use the sky box. Revo3 would be my choice.
Not true - you just can't pause/rewind/record What's a Revo3, google says it's either a mobility scooter or disco lights?
go go auto correct Not sure how it goes Humax to revo, probably bashing something in for somebody else. Humax HDR works for a lot of people. We got ours on Amazon sale for under £100. Not entirely sure price of latest version. Do you need the latest Sky HD box? I know our old box does not get Dave as an example channel.
