Has anyone ever seen a micro ATX board with a PCI-X slot? Im looking at building a NAS-on-steroids but but it seems that the board I planned on using has 64bit pci slots rather than PCI-X and my SATA card only works with PCI-X.

    Any help much appreciated.

A PCI-X SATA card will (usually) work in a PCI slot but at reduced speeds....

This one doesn't seem to want to, besides which its a 16 port card and would be SERIOUSLY bottlenecked by the 133MB limit of 32bit PCI slot.

As you can see I have a similar doubt... And found part of the solution.... Now to find a place selling the riser card has proven more difficult than ever...

    You mean like this?:D

Great find, I wonder how transparent it is to the OS though.

    THANKS! :jawdrop:
    :D
Now to find an European store :p (my quote above was from the Scan forums, but so far no answer)
My thoughts exactly. However, since the Asus WS motherboards use PCIe-PCI-X bridges without any problems, it should work fine (unless ASUS uses BIOS tweaks to make the bridge invisible to the OS... I don't know...)

I don't know whether you'll find a european shop though you could email that place and see if they'll export it.

The tyan site suggests that its only compatible with one of their mobos which doesn't look good for general compatibility.
